As the champion of the World U16, in the age of 16, Qiyu has finally achieved her last GM norm and became WGM! Lately, Qiyu has made many great results. She had finished first in the U18 Girls category at the North American Youth Chess Championship in 2015 Toluca, Mexico and as a result she was automatically awarded by FIDE the Woman International Master (WIM). In September 2016, Qiyu won the Canadian Women’s championship and as a result qualified for Women’s World Chess Championship 2017.
